Readers judge a book by its cover, usually as a small thumbnail in a store listing or social post. A good cover tells them the genre at a glance, looks professional next to traditionally published titles and still feels like your book.

BzLogics designs book covers for self-published authors and small presses. We design with genre conventions, thumbnail legibility and printer requirements in mind, so the cover works on screen and in print.

What is included

  • Front cover design for your genre and audience
  • Full print wrap with front, spine and back cover, built to your printer’s template
  • Ebook cover in the sizes retailers ask for
  • Print-ready and web-ready export files
  • Optional promotional versions for your website and social media

The exact deliverables are listed in your quote.

Why print specifications matter

A paperback or hardback cover is more than a picture. Trim size, page count and paper type affect the spine width, and the file needs correct bleed and a safe area for text and barcode. We work from the template supplied by your printer, such as the cover template that Lulu provides for your chosen format, so your file is built to the right dimensions from the start. Tell us where you plan to publish and we will export to that platform’s requirements.

What we need from you

  • Your genre, target readers and a short synopsis or blurb
  • Title, subtitle, series name and author name exactly as they should appear
  • Trim size and estimated page count, or ask us to advise
  • Covers you like, and dislike, in your genre
  • Any images or artwork you have the rights to use

Our design process

  1. Brief: we review your answers and agree the creative direction.
  2. Concepts: we present initial cover concepts.
  3. Refinement: you choose a direction and request changes within the revision rounds in your quote.
  4. Final files: once you approve, we supply the final files for print and digital use. If your page count changes before printing, the spine can be adjusted, and any extra work is quoted separately.

Book cover FAQs

Can you design covers for a series?

Yes. We can create a consistent look across a series, with a repeatable layout so new titles feel connected.

Do you format the inside of the book?

Print-ready interior files are part of our print-on-demand set-up. Tell us what you need and we will confirm the scope in your quote.

What images do you use?

We tell you which images are used and make sure they are licensed for commercial book covers. If you have your own artwork or photography, we can work with it.

Can you design for platforms other than Lulu?

Yes. We can prepare covers to the specifications of other platforms such as Amazon KDP. Let us know where you plan to publish.

Will the cover match my author website?

It can. We can align website colours and typography with your cover. See our author website design service.
